Lime – a natural balance between tradition and innovation

Thousands of years ago, the Egyptians built pyramids using lime plaster, and the Romans brought its use to a new level. Its durability is also demonstrated by the Great Wall of China, which has withstood for more than 2,000 years thanks to lime.

Today, lime is more than just a construction material – it is an ecological solution. More than 20% of its production is used for environmental protection. With us, you build on proven quality and the future of sustainable development.

Why lime?

  • Environmentally friendly and sustainable:

    • A natural material with minimal transport of raw materials.

    • CO₂ released during production is reabsorbed upon contact with air during hardening (carbonation).

  • Universal properties:

    • Disinfects and neutralises: destroys bacteria, suitable for water treatment and sludge stabilisation.

    • Improves soil properties: neutralises acidity, adjusts pH, improves structure.

    • Protects the air: binds sulphur – used in flue gas desulphurisation.

    • Stabilises: stabilisation and strengthening of clay soils – the soil does not need to be transported to a landfill.

Areas of application:

  • Metallurgy – to improve slag properties and for desulphurisation in steel production. The use of dolomitic lime contributes to a longer service life of converter linings due to the MgO content, which reduces wear.

  • Production of aerated concrete – during the reaction with calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂), hydrogen is released, ensuring the formation of pores and the lightness of the material.

  • Construction – as a basic raw material (hydrated lime as well as quicklime) for the production of mortars, plasters and masonry work. Also suitable for the preparation of industrial plaster mixes.

  • Soil stabilisation – increases mechanical strength, long-term cohesion and resistance of the soil to water, making it ideal for geotechnical applications.

  • Chemical industry – as an input raw material in various chemical syntheses.

  • Agriculture – to improve soil structure, reduce acidity, disinfect and support the absorption of nutrients (N, P, K and others).

  • Wastewater treatment and sludge neutralisation – thanks to its cleaning, hygienic and neutralising properties, it contributes to the environmentally sound processing of waste substances.

Dolomite – a mineral with a wide range of industrial applications

Dolomite (CaMg(CO₃)₂) is a naturally occurring mineral that represents an important component of many industrial sectors. Thanks to its unique chemical composition – a combination of calcium and magnesium – it is widely used in metallurgy, the glass industry, construction and agriculture. Dolomite is a stable, environmentally friendly and efficient material that combines tradition with current requirements for quality and sustainability.

Why dolomite?

  • A natural and locally mined material – minimises environmental impacts

  • Calcined dolomite – suitable for the production of refractory materials

  • Chemical balance of calcium and magnesium – enriches products and improves their properties

  • Environmentally friendly approach – non-toxic and easily recyclable material

Areas of application:

Dolomitic limestone – a versatile mineral with added value

Dolomitic limestone is a natural rock containing calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) and magnesium carbonate (MgCO₃), combining the advantages of limestone and dolomite. Thanks to the balanced ratio of calcium and magnesium, it represents a particularly valuable raw material for industrial, construction and agricultural applications. Its exceptional properties are used where emphasis is placed on quality, functionality and sustainability.

Why dolomitic limestone?

  • A natural source of calcium and magnesium – a balanced composition improves efficiency in technical as well as agro-industrial applications.

  • An environmentally friendly and sustainable material – safe, recyclable and gentle on the environment.

  • Versatility of use – applicable in various sectors with high added value

Areas of application:

  • Metallurgical industry – it forms an important slag-forming additive in the production of pig iron. It helps stabilise the chemical composition of slag and, thanks to the magnesium content, increases the service life of furnace linings.
  • Construction industry – it is used as aggregate, as a filler in concrete, plasters and asphalt mixtures. Calcium and magnesium improve the strength and durability of construction materials.
  • Mining industry – it is used in flotation, neutralisation of acidic mine waters and processing of ore raw materials. It forms part of technological processes with a requirement for pH regulation.
  • Agriculture – it represents an effective method of adjusting soil pH and at the same time supplies plants not only with calcium, but also magnesium – which is essential for the formation of chlorophyll (the green pigment of plants). The result is improved photosynthesis, higher vitality and soil fertility.
  • Glass industry – it is used as a raw material for the glass batch, where it improves fusibility and the physical and chemical properties of glass. The presence of MgCO₃ contributes to higher resistance of the final product.
  • Chemical industry – as an input raw material in various chemical syntheses.

Aggregate of Various Fractions – the Basis of Construction

Aggregate is a basic construction material of natural origin which, thanks to its variety of fractions, offers a wide range of applications. From the construction of transport infrastructure to the production of concrete and asphalt mixtures – high-quality aggregate is the basis of strength, stability and the long service life of every project.

Why choose certified aggregate?

  • Precisely defined fractions – an ideal composition for specific construction applications.

  • High strength and durability – ensures long-term stability and load-bearing capacity of structures.

  • Excellent compactability and drainage properties – key for backfilling, embankments and base layers.

  • Certification and compliance with standards – meets European requirements and standards in construction.

  • Our aggregate complies with the following standards: STN EN 12620, 13043, 13242, 13285, 13383-1 for hydraulic engineering structures and for gabions, and the approval letter of ŽSR – material for structural layers of the sleeper subgrade.

Areas of application:

  • Transport structures and roads – aggregate of various fractions is a basic component of load-bearing layers of carriageways, motorways, roads, sidewalks and car parks.

  • Backfilling and landscaping works – suitable for base layers, excavation backfills, slope reinforcement or drainage.

  • Production of asphalt, concrete and concrete products – graded aggregate ensures the strength and durability of the resulting mixtures.

  • Water management and railway structures – certified fractions meet strict technical requirements according to applicable STN standards and technical specifications.
